Spring into craft, explore and play!

Spring in here, it's time to explore, craft and play!

With lots of great national days, celebrations and the nicer weather here (hopefully to stay), spring is a busy season. We’ve pulled together all of our key resources into one handy place so whether you need crafting inspiration for Easter or Father’s Day, resources for exploring the great outdoors or sport equipment ready for your very own sports day, we have everything you need!

To get little ones inspired and active this spring, we've put together a fun nature-inspired obstacle course. Whether they want to get creative with crafting, become little explorers or get active with sports, the obstacle course covers all in one go! From hopping through hoops, crafting flower crowns to going on a scavenger hunt.

........Nature-inspired obstacle course .....

This nature-inspired obstacle course will develop little ones in creativity, balance, physical coordination, problem solving, teamwork and outdoor exploration. To get started, split the little ones in groups using 3 different coloured team bands. Each child from every team will be assigned to one of the three stations below, and the team that gets the most points wins.

Obstacle course station

To set up the obstacle course station, start by lining up five hoops in front of each other forming a zigzag pattern. Next, set up a tunnel for the little ones to crawl through , followed by a balance log to walk across, then create a sand pit for them to crawl though. Finally end the course with running around cones. First to complete the course gets 1 point!

Crafting station

After completing the physical obstacles, introduce a nature themed craft stations, where little ones can make flower crowns, painted rocks or nature collages. For more craft ideas check out our how-to guide below. Most creative craft gets 1 point.

Treasure hunt station

Lastly, prepare a list of items like a flower, feather, stick, sone and a leaf. Each child from each team must find all the item - first to find them all gets 1 point.
